A fun way to get the girls together this April was hosting a backyard tea party. Each guest was to dress up in their “tea attire” and hats were encouraged. We sent out adorable invitations made from Etsy, which can easily be made by you with the right patients. After collecting tea cups through the years, this was the perfect opportunity to use them. The array of tea cups gave the tables a vintage feeling to the party.
Mason Jars are also a must, purchasing a set of ten is worth the money because believe us, you can find so many uses for them again. We used them for the drinks that were served, adding fun spring colored straws and fruit gave the drinks a spring touch.
Having a candy bar is a great way to add more spring color to the table. Setting out pink candy stripped and polka dot bags allowed for the guest to have something to take home.
Using old books, cake and cupcake stands, and pretty plates was a great way to display the food. The menu consisted of tea sandwhiches, macaroons, cupcakes, hummus and veggies. We offered two different types of alcoholic beverages – sweet tea with lemonade vodka and Raspberry tea with lemonade vodka. Each table had three different types of tea for the guest to enjoy as well.
To decorate the tables, basic plastic white table clothes were used. The floral arrangements were chosen from spring colors. Using butterfly and flower cut outs spread around the table was a great added touch. The name cards were made from used jars and cups, added name card holders and florals. Using plastic plates weren’t the prettiest touch, but adding floral napkins and using silver vintage utensils helped take away from the flaws.
