Winter Cocktails with Kahlua

Last weekend I ventured to Breckenridge for Buddy Beach at TBar with Kahlúa!

A little fun fact about me, I love the winter. It’s my favorite time of the year! You can definitely tell I get most inspired by the winter, especially around Christmas! When Kahlúa asked me to join them at their Buddy Beach event in Breckenridge I jumped on the opportunity to venture to the mountains with Amanda (PureLee Photography) to hit the slopes and enjoy some après ski activities with Kahlúa! We started out our day skiing some pretty decent snow that had recently fallen the day before. It was absolutely freezing cold though so we couldn’t wait to get inside TBar and join the Kahlúa team for a winter cocktail!

Through the many years I have grown up skiing my drive to stay out on the hill all day is less and less. Not in a negative way, I just love the idea of après ski activities! My kind of skiing now a days involves a few runs, and a few cocktails afterwards! Meeting Kahlúa for one was the perfect way to end the day on the ski hill! A White Russian paired with delicious bites such as three-cheese grilled cheese, buffalo chicken dip and nacho french fries really hit the spot!

As winter continues here in Colorado, what better way to celebrate with than the perfect Kahlúa cocktail, a spiked iced hot chocolate! This recipe is so simple to make and the perfect libation to enjoy after hitting the slopes! Even if it is freezing outside, an iced Kahlúa cocktail is the perfect way to warm yourself up!


Kahlúa Spiked Iced Hot Chocolate

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Your choice of milk, whole milk is best!
  • 5 tbs Hot chocolate, I love this one!
  • Ice
  • 1 part vanilla vodka
  • 1 part Kahlúa
  • Marshmallow, for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a saucepan, heat the milk until it bubbles on the sides. Add the hot chocolate mixture until it dissolves, remove from heat.
  2. Let the mixture cool by placing in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. Once cooled, add the vodka and Kahlúa along with ice. Top with a stuffed marshmallow and serve!
